Today’s youth athletes are tomorrow’s champions!

Every child in USATF competes alongside their peers in 2-year age divisions, from 8 & younger up to 18. Cross country events are held in the fall, indoor competitions take place during the winter, and track & field events take place in the spring and summer. There are competitive and non-competitive opportunities that can lead up to regional, national and even international competitions.

Youth Programs
The USATF Junior Olympic program is the most visible youth athlete developmental program in the world. Through a series of progressional events consisting of Association and Regional meets, athletes have the opportunity to advance to the National Championships in track & field and cross country. USATF membership is required to compete in this program.  The USATF Hershey National Youth Indoor Championship is the USATF youth winter championship series. Athletes ages 7-14 must compete in the zone qualifier meet held in mid to late February, in order to progress to the national championship. There are no standards to meet in order to qualify.  USATF membership is required to compete in this program.
