2021 Saratoga Cross Country Classic

Registration

Online registration closes Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10:00am. Save by registering online! You can register race day starting at 8:30am, and up until 20 minutes before race time (9:40am). Cash or credit accepted.

Results

The Saratoga XC Classic (SXCC) is a 5K cross country race held at the Saratoga State Park. This event event run on the iconic 5k XC course serves as the USATF Adirondack Association XC Championship, but all runners are invited whether they are USATF athletes or not. It is a USATF Sanctioned event.

Never run cross country before? That's OK...the SXCC is NOT a technical trail run. This is the same legendary course used by local high schools and for other Section 2 cross country events. It has also been used as the USATF National 5k XC Championship multiple times, most recently in 2015.
Starting in the open grass field just north of the Hall of Springs, the course winds through the beautiful Spa State Park (19 Roosevelt Drive, 12866). The surface is a combination of grass, asphalt, macadam, gravel and dirt. The vast majority of the footing is quite even. Even the most novice runners find this course to be very unique and enjoyable event!

COVID-related Information
All athletes will be required to show proof of vaccination (minimum 2 weeks since final shot) OR a negative PCR test dated no sooner than 10/24/21. A link with a brief health survey will be sent the morning of event, or the athlete can show their proof when checking in at registration.
Please Note: Rapid antigen tests are not acceptable at this time.

Registration Fees:
Online before October 28th at 10:00am - $30
Day of Registration (closes at 9:30am) - $35

In addition to chip timing and the awards described below, all entrants will get their choice of various USATF and SXCC swag - everything from running and winter hats, tech shirts, cotton shirts, tote bags. Lots of cool stuff, and you get to choose at check in,. First come first serve!

Top Individuals

Applewood Smoked Hams will go to the Top Overall Male/Female and Top Age Graded Male/Female.


Age Groups

Baked goods awarded to the Top 3 finishers in 5 year age groups.

 

USATF Individual Awards

USATF medals to Top 3 in each 5 Year USATF age group

 

USATF Team Awards
$150 and $100, respectively, to the Top 2 Age Graded USATF Adirondack Teams. Top 5 runners score regardless of age or gender.
 

Youth Race

Out of an abundance of caution related to the pandemic, the youth event will be held separately (tentatively on November 7th, 2021). This event is open to all ages, but all athletes are subject to the same COVID vaccination/testing requirements. Plesae contact the race director with any questions.


History
The SXCC has a rich history dating back to 2001, when it was known as the Saratoga National Bank XC Classic. It has served as the USATF Masters 5K Cross Country Championship five times (2004-07, 2015).
