The Night of Miles will feature a 1 mile run on the track, with divisions for different age groups and genders. This event is for athletes of all ages, USATF members and non-members alike. FAT Timing provided by UnderDog Timing.

COVID-related INFORMATION

IMPORTANT: This meet is being offered under USATF event sanctioning and is required to follow USATF guidance. The current guidance was last updated 7/14/21 and may change before August 6th. Below summarizes the COVID protocols we must follow as of August 1st; again, this may change, so please monitor this event page closely as the meet approaches.

Summary: Everyone admitted to the facility will be required to complete a screening survey and temperature check. Anyone showing proof of vaccination does not need to wear a mask. Unvaccinated individuals will need to show proof of a negative PCR test, and wear a mask unless running, eating or drinking. As of 8/1, a rapid antigen test is no longer acceptable; a PCR test is required for unvaccinated individuals.

Details: Masks are required for any unvaccinated individuals at all times, except for athletes when warming up or competing and individuals who have a medical condition where face coverings / mask wearing is contra-indicated. Also, masks can be removed while eating or drinking. Vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask.

Everyone (athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, etc) will be temperature checked upon entrance to the facility. Anyone registering a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will not be admitted. Also, everyone will be required to complete a COVID survey upon admission confirming (via self-reporting) no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in past 7 days (OR at least 7 days from onset of any COVID-19 infection signs or symptoms AND at least 72 hours since signs / symptoms have resolved), no close sustained contact with anyone who is sick within 14 days of the event and no travel within 10 days of the event to or from an international location.

For athletes, this event falls under Moderate Risk as defined by USATF. Below are the requirements for entry into a Moderate Risk event:

For these events, athletes will be required to meet the entrance requirements above PLUS one of the following:
  1. Proof of vaccination as defined by the CDC (>2 weeks after the full course of vaccination) - photos/copies are fine.
  2. Proof of a confirmed (positive) COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) test via PCR or antigen testing within 90 days of the competition if all the following criteria are met:
    1. It has been at least 14 days since the positive COVID-19 test
    2. It has been at least 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever reducing medicine
    3. Other symptoms of COVID-19 are resolved (except for loss of taste or smell, which may take longer to resolve)
  3. Proof of one negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test, performed within seven days of the event. Note that COVID-19 antibody testing is NOT currently accepted to meet the negative COVID-19 test criterion. A PCR test is required only if the county of residence of the athlete OR Saratoga County have had a positivity rate exceeding 5.0% in any of the 14 days prior to 8/6/2021. Note that Saratoga County has exceeded this threshold, and therefore a PCR test is required - rapid antigen testing will not be accepted.

Note: For PCR testing, many areas offer free testing.

Elimination Mile

We will end the Night of Miles with a fun race for athletes and spectators alike!

  • Any athlete who runs in a division can also declare themselves for the Elimination Mile (there is no addition cost)
  • Declarations must be made to the Clerk anytime up to 30 minutes after the athlete completes their regular mile race
  • 6 athletes per heat, based solely on their time from that evening, regardless of age or gender.
  • The last athlete across the finish line on each of the first 3 laps drops out of the race, leaving 3 for the final lap.
  • We may adjust slightly based on numbers; for example, we may put 7 in a heat and drop 2 after Lap 1.
