I knew I was going to have to work hard coming into the meet, especially with the Decathlon because I had only ever done the events individually, but the heat was a factor that made conditions more difficult. Going out for the 100m at the beginning of the Decathlon was really energizing. I’m happy I was able to get it done and set myself up for next year to improve.

Competing at a Junior Olympic is already a great achievement but also being the top 8 in an event and becoming an All American is probably the biggest running achievement I have had in my running career. Becoming an All American has been something I have wanted to achieve since the first time I went to a Junior Olympic meet. Finally becoming one is like a dream come true. My experience at the Junior Olympics this year was a bit different because of the Covid regulations. With getting tested before you are able to compete but besides that the competitiveness, organization, and hard work was the same as the previous years has been. With the exception of more people in some events. Competing in such a high level is pretty nerve racking but I enjoy the experience and opportunity. It is not something for everyone cause you have to work hard and put effort into it but if it’s for you then It’s a great way to meet new people and it helps push you run, jump, snd throw your best.
